Using the Law of Attraction

It’s important to note that similarly to affirmations, the Law of Attraction can be used for both positive and negative things. If you’re constantly thinking, ‘I don’t deserve this job, I don’t deserve my wife/ husband, or I don’t deserve the money I have,’ soon enough, the universe will take it away from you. The Law of Attraction isn’t something that works its magic overnight, but in time, you won’t be able to ignore its influence. Think of yourself as a magnet. Whatever energy you put out into the universe is bound to come back to you eventually.

Have you ever had a day in which everything seemed to go wrong? More often than not, it begins with something simple like forgetting your wallet/ purse. Once you realise your mistake, your mind spirals into a black hole of negativity and everything else that goes wrong will push you further and further into this black hole. This is how the Law of Attraction operates on its most basic level.

How the Law of Attraction Became a Thing

The Law of Attraction isn’t a new concept. In fact, it’s something that has been practised throughout history. The concept has taken many forms over time, with ‘karma’ being one of them. The Law of Attraction is a branch of the New Thought movement which grew from the teachings of Phineas Quimby during the 19th century. However, the one who first pieced together the phrase was Prentice Mulford, a man who played a huge role in the New Thought movement. Till this day, the Law of Attraction remains the most popular of universal thoughts, with the 2006 movie, The Secret, springing it back into the spotlight.

Science and the Law of Attraction

As spooky as the Law of Attraction seems to those who are new to the concept. In reality, it fits into how the universe works. There are many weird things about the universe, most of which would blow your mind should you decide to look into them. One of the things that physicists have come to notice is that the world around us can change by just our observing of it; this is known as the observer effect with the most unusual results coming from the world of quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics is far too big a topic to get into right now, but feel free to look into at your earliest convenience.

A Final Thought

The workings of the Law of Attraction are fascinating. By practising and making the most of this philosophy you’ll be able to turn your life around in ways you could never have foreseen.

A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks he becomes.”
― Gandhi
