What Are Ouija Boards?

An Ouija board is a flat board with numbers, letters, and symbols written on it; the words ‘yes’ and ‘no’ are also often included. The board is used to talk with spirits who have crossed over into the ethereal realm.

How Do Ouija Boards Work?

The Ouija board comes with a planchette, a small wooden or plastic piece that the participants put their fingers on during a session. Once you’ve placed your finger on the planchette, you can start to communicate with spirits by asking questions, one of the most popular being, ‘Is anyone there?’ If there is a spirit present, it’ll move the user’s hand around the board to respond to their questions.

What Are the Dangers of Ouija Boards?

There are a lot of psychics that are wary of Ouija boards. They say that there are many dangers that can arise when summoning spirits, especially for those who aren’t experienced. When an inexperienced person uses an Ouija board, they might end up summoning a dark spirit by accident. Whilst it may not be as dramatic as you’ve come to know in a blockbuster movie, the results can be terrifying.

Someone without experience may not even realise that they’re talking to an evil spirit. This can make them vulnerable in regard to receiving misinformation from the one they’re in contact with. There’s also the possibility of dark energies attaching themselves to an inexperienced user; the spirit can even attach itself to the property that was used to conduct the séance. There have loads of reports over the years concerning people who’ve experienced a great deal of ‘bad luck’ following the use of an Ouija board.

Do Psychics Use Ouija Boards?

The psychic community is very divided when it comes to the use of Ouija boards. Some psychics believe that if used responsibly, the board is a very useful tool to summon the dead with. Before using an Ouija board, professional psychics will clear the room of negative energy. Once they’ve done this, they’ll create a consecrated circle around the area in which the board is to be used. Of course, to do such a thing you’d have to know what you’re doing so that you can protect everyone that’ll be involved in the séance.

Other psychics believe that Ouija boards should be avoided at all costs. There are loads of stories talking about the bad experiences that professional of psychics have had when using an Ouija board. So, whilst Ouija boards are very powerful tools, as long as there are other ways to communicate with spirits, Oujia boards are best avoided.
